VSP Provides Grant for New Eye Exhibit Sacramento, CA – May 22, 2006 – The Health Museum in Houston announced today the addition of a new Adjustable Eye exhibit allowing visitors to explore the mechanics of the eye through hands-on experiments. The exhibit is made possible by a grant from VSP, the nation's largest eye health benefits provider. "The exhibit does a great job showing how complex the eye is," said Dan Morgan, VSP Regional Vice President. "We hope visitors walk away understanding why taking care of your eyes and getting regular eye exams is so important." According to Martha Griffin, Associate Director of Education and Programs, "The exhibit allows visitors to interact in a physical way, providing an experience that is especially conducive to learning. The shape of the lens can be altered in order to focus on an image, duplicating what happens in our own eyes. The size and physical activity of the exhibit make it an attention-getter." The exhibit complements existing eye displays in the Amazing Body Pavilion like the King Kong-sized retina; programming called Seeing is Believing; and the Comparative Eye Anatomy Organ Dissection Program. In addition to the exhibit, VSP has joined with The Health Museum to develop fun and interactive educational materials to teach young people about vision and eye health. About VSP ### |
