No Cost Health and Well-Being

Employee wellness, inside and out, is an important initiative at VSP. That’s why we offer health care options that provide employees with preventive care at no cost. We provide two medical options at no monthly cost, including a high deductible health plan option with money paid from VSP to you through a Health Savings Account. Employees can choose to cover their opposite or same sex domestic partner with VSP’s health care programs.

We also pay for dental, vision and an Employee Assistance Program for employees and their families.

Generous Retirement and Savings Plans

You have big plans for your retirement. Maybe a second home or even a trip around the world. That’s why we give employees the tools to prepare for a comfortable financial future through our retirement and savings plans. We provide a yearly contribution to your retirement of 5% of your annual earnings. Plus up to an extra 10% variable contribution based on company performance. Employees can start contributing to their retirement plan on their first day of employment.

Life Insurance

In case the worst happens, you want to know that your family is taken care of. We do too. That’s why we cover employees with life insurance three times their annual base salary, up to a specified maximum. We also provide the same benefit amount in Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance. If an employee wants more coverage, they can choose to purchase supplemental life insurance for themselves, their eligible dependents and domestic partner.

Disability Programs

Short-Term Disability – Have an unexpected illness or injury? As an employee, if you ever find yourself disabled in the short-term, we’ll cover you with 60% of your salary. But you always have the option to "buy-up" and purchase extra coverage, up to 70% of your pay.

Long-Term Disability – If a disability is more severe and requires you to be out of work for the long term, we provide employees 50% of their salary. Or you can elect to "buy-up" additional coverage to provide 67% of your pay.

Travel Accident Insurance – We cover you for $35,000 to $500,000, depending on your annual base salary.

Time Off Benefits

During your first year, you could be eligible for more than three weeks of paid time off, and that’s not including company holidays:

Vacation – Employees earn two weeks of paid time off each year during the first five years of employment. After five years, it’s three weeks per year, and then four weeks per year after ten years working for VSP.

Sick Leave – Employees earn five sick days per year.

Holidays – There are nine company paid holidays per year.

Floating Holidays – After six months of employment, employees receive three paid floating holidays per year.

Paid Volunteer Program – Each year, employees may use up to eight hours, or equivalent hours, spread out over different days for community service work.

Education Reimbursement Programs

If you’re looking to earn your college degree, then you’ll love our education reimbursement program. We encourage our employees to pursue their educational goals and we put our money where our proverbial mouth is. We reimburse eligible employees for tuition, books, parking and lab fees up to $5,250 per year for approved courses. For qualified employees, we’ll even reimburse up to 50% of applicable graduate degree fees above the annual $5,250 standard limit.

Employee Bonus Program

A job well done means a lot, but a bonus is even better. So we give all eligible employees a holiday and incentive bonus each year. Traditionally, the bonuses have equaled at least 4% of an employee’s annual salary. Bonus eligibility is based on hire date; therefore, bonuses may be prorated during your first year of employment. [Note: These bonuses are for all employees not participating in Altair, Management, Optical Lab or Sales bonus programs.]
